Hourly Rate: £13.45 per hour

Hours Offered: 4 hours a week term time (up to 45 miles at £0.45 per mile); 8 hours a week school holidays (up to 90 miles at £0.45 per mile).

Work Pattern: To be agreed at interview.

A Direct Payments client in Pembrokeshire is looking to employ a Personal Assistant to support their son who has additional learning needs. The successful applicant should be patient, kind and caring.

Responsibilities
  • Develop trusting, supportive relationships with the family.
  • Learn and attend therapy sessions.
  • Initially support the parents outside of the home to build up support for their son.
  • Demonstrate emotional awareness and support towards the person’s needs.
  • Provide support with stimulating activities.
  • Spend time understanding the person’s specific needs to support effectively.
  • Ensure the employer’s safety at all times during working hours.
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks requested by the employer during working hours.
  • Mind safeguarding issues and report any concerns to the relevant authority.
  • Contact the GP, Social Worker or Local Authority if the employer needs medical assistance.

  • Caring and patient.

  • Proactive and self‑motivated.
  • Has good local knowledge.
  • Good time‑keeping and flexibility around working patterns and duties.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Able to develop a supportive and consistent relationship.
Other Requirements
  • A full, clean driving licence and use of a car are required.
  • Business use must be covered by your vehicle insurance to use the vehicle within work hours.
Benefits
