Come and join a well-established Company who since 1986, has processed herbs, chillies and fresh produce for the UK food industry. They grow the finest quality herbs in Worcester and their offices are based in Pershore.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance of machines, equipment, buildings and related infrastructure within the scope of ability, including planned and reactive maintenance, to the required Quality, Food Safety, Health and Safety and Environmental standards.
- Diagnose and resolve automation, electrical, and mechanical issues during breakdowns.
- Ensure Health and Safety equipment is used where required and instructions followed where relevant to function.
- Arrange servicing and calibration of specialist equipment.
- Ensure contractors under Facilities/maintenance follow instructions correctly in order to minimize risk of food safety, health and safety and environmental incidents.
- Ensure the correct management of documentation.
- Assist with production and continually support operational improvements.
- Ensure that maintenance records and relevant documentation are kept up to date and retrievable for internal use, customer requirements, and statutory purposes and to ensure that critical equipment and instruments are maintained and calibrated to ensure compliance with the standard requirements.
- Actively participate in the control of maintenance costs when required, through maintenance activities or seeking alternatives.
- Management of spares and parts to ensure critical spares are available for all key equipment.
- Commissioning new / modify equipment; fault finding and diagnostics within the scope of ability.
Experience, qualifications and skills
- A mechanically biased engineer with experience working in manufacturing / factory environments.
- HND/HNC Qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Electrical qualifications are required.
- Previous experience in maintenance of mechanical machinery, and in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
- Working knowledge of water tanks/pumps, refrigeration units, mechanical spinners, various production belts and rollers, motors and bearings.
- Ensure systems comply with current requirements and standards.

- To demonstrate excellent communication throughout the department and the business as a whole.
- Competent and confident problem solver with the ability to reduce equipment down time.
- Ability to deal with pressure to ensure equipment is back and running at the earliest opportunity.
- To be fully aware of the company’s Food Safety and Quality Policy ensuring that all operations are carried out in accordance with legislation, specified procedures and working practices, and to report any issues identified to a member of the Food Safety management team.

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is from £35k depending on experience. You will receive 30 days' holiday (including 8 bank holidays). The standard hours are an 8-hour day to be worked on 5 days from Monday to Sunday.
