As a People Operations Apprentice you will provide an HR operational and administrative service to a number of schools and academies that are allocated to the post holder, working as a wider team when required to ensure an effective service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with School Office Managers to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and Trust policies.
  • Provide administrative support for the full employee lifecycle including on-boarding, contract variations and leavers.
  • Ensure pre-employment checks are undertaken in accordance with Safer Recruitment practices, Ofsted and Trust policies and procedures.
  • Provide accurate data to the Trusts Payroll Provider in a timely manner.
  • Signpost basic HR enquiries (email, phone, in-person) and elevate when needed.
  • Support schools to maintain electronic records and in-house HR systems.
  • Assist with preparing school-based reports on employee related data to help schools manage staff.
  • Build and maintain a strong relationship with school leaders, office managers and other professional service colleagues.

Qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent – English & Maths grade C or above (or willing to work towards).
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment would be an advantage.

Apprenticeship Details

You will be working towards the Level 3 HR support apprenticeship standard, which includes:

  • Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours.
  • Functional skills in Maths and English if required.

This will be delivered by your dedicated training provider, Realise.

Apprenticeship duration: 14 months.
