Personal Assistant
Purpose of job: I am looking for a Personal Assistant to generally support me to maintain and develop my independence and specifically to be a support buddy on a Friday to allow me to attend the UpBeat session and then go for a few games of pool afterwards.
Hours of Work: Fixed 0930 to 1330 on a Friday. Other ad hoc hours may be available from time to time and by mutual agreement.
Rates of Pay: £15.10 per hour, plus holiday pay and expenses. Paid 4 weekly in arrears by bank transfer.
Tasks Involved:
- Facilitate attending UpBeat music sessions: pick up from home in Penarth – drive to session in Fairwater – go to game or 2 of pool – drive back home.
- Support with speech to help people understand me if necessary.
Type of Person Required:
- Someone with similar interests who would enjoy the activities described above would be beneficial.
- Car driver with own car, with insurance covered by business insurance.

About the Job: Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Police Check – which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority). The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK.
