Mitie have a brand new opportunity for an organised and experienced Compliance Officer to support the day-to-day operational delivery of statutory compliance, technical assurance, service partner performance and site standards across the account. You will be reporting into the Head of Strategic Asset Management & Compliance, the Compliance Officer provides experienced operational compliance support across the contract, taking ownership of compliance workflows, assurance processes, and data integrity, with the support of the data and Asset Coordinator.
Role Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the delivery of all statutory inspections across the estate, ensuring planned activities are completed in line with statutory timescales.
- Ensure all statutory certification and records are current, accurate, and readily accessible for audit and client review.
- Maintain and update compliance trackers, dashboards, ensuring data accuracy and clarity.
- Proactively identify and escalate compliance risks, gaps, or emerging issues with supporting evidence.
- Monitor service partner and contractor maintenance performance against contractual and statutory requirements.
- Review Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) completion, quality, and compliance with SFG20 and applicable standards, highlighting non-compliance or quality concerns.
- Support reactive incident and defect management, ensuring compliance impacts are assessed and controlled.
- Coordinate technical priorities across multiple sites, balancing risk, business impact, and available resources with the support of management.
- Support and prepare for client, internal, external and statutory audits.
- Maintain robust assurance and evidence records in line with Mitie and client requirements.
- Complete assurance inspections and technical spot-checks where required.
What we are looking for
- 5 years experience of technical compliance within Facilities Management or a related environment.
- Have a relevant supporting qualification.
- Sound knowledge of legislation, compliance, and regulatory systems within premises and the built environment.
- Proven experience supervising contractors and service partners.
- Good working knowledge of FM systems, CAFM platforms, and compliance processes.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership capability and ability to influence operational teams whilst negotiating with persistent stakeholders.
