Portable Appliance Tester to cover all of North Yorkshire working within North Yorkshire Council buildings.
Full training given with progression opportunities. Permanent Role. Must hold Full Manual UK Drivers Licence. Must pass Full enhanced DBS check. 40hrs Per week Monday-Friday, some weekend work may be required and on occasion out of hours work. Some time will involve time spent away from home from Monday to Friday.
Suitable candidates would need to have the below skills:
- Organisational skills
- Hard working, competent and reliable
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a team as well as independently
- Be literate with I.T (Microsoft Office)
- Have access to a Laptop/tablet/computer once a week to download reports
- Willing to work in different environments
- Comply with current uniform standards, ensuring the company uniform is always worn correctly

Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT) in accordance with the current edition of the IET Code of Practice.
- Produce results which meet the requirements and quality standards of clients and external accrediting bodies.
- Manage appliance testing in accordance with Health & Safety Regulations.
- Liaise with customers to ensure that the work is carried out efficiently, to customer’s requirements, whilst limiting the disruption to their business.
- Maintain an acceptable time keeping track record, ensure that start & finish times are adhered to, as directed by the PAT Manager.
- Identify, prevent, or pre-empt any potential areas for customer dissatisfaction, for example, arriving late due to traffic.
- Good route preparation and forward planning is vital.
