The Community & Clinical Support Services at Southport/Ormskirk Hospital sites are looking to appoint a support medical secretary to provide a comprehensive service with the minimum of supervision to specialities within the division. It is a 22.5-hour post, working days are Wednesday–Friday at Ormskirk Hospital.
Key Duties
- Work as part of a support medical secretary team to support the clinical workforce.
- Type clinical correspondence using digital/audio systems.
- Work across both medical and surgical specialities to ensure typing targets are met.
- Provide support to the medical secretaries as required.
Qualifications
- Sound knowledge of medical terminology.
- Qualified to at least RSA Level 3 / OCR typing and word processing or equivalent.
- AMSPAR certification desirable.
- Proficiency in audio typing and Microsoft Office packages.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and withstand the pressure of a busy team.
- Ability to work independently and on own initiative.
