We are looking for an experienced and motivated HCPC registered podiatrist to join our Community Podiatry Service as a Band 7 leader covering the West Lancashire patch on a 12-month fixed‑term basis. This opportunity is for someone passionate about leading high‑quality community podiatry services and supporting teams to deliver safe, effective and person‑centred care across a range of community settings.
Responsibilities
- The post holder will have responsibility for the delivery of the clinical service within the defined area, providing visible leadership and day‑to‑day management to the team.
- They will ensure services are efficient, effective, well‑coordinated and responsive, with quality and patient experience at the centre.
- Providing leadership, management and communication for the team, supporting staff performance, service development and continuous improvement.
- Ensuring delivery of the quality strategy within the designated area through effective systems, processes, governance and assurance arrangements.
- Providing clinical leadership and day‑to‑day management, ensuring effective delegation, staff support and safe delivery of patient care.
- Working in partnership with other services and stakeholders to ensure patients and clients are treated in the most appropriate setting.
- Providing caseload oversight and clinical supervision to maintain high standards of practice.
- Contributing to service development, quality improvement and consistent delivery of person‑centred care.
- Overseeing team staffing, including line management, delegation, rota planning and working patterns.
- Practising autonomously and demonstrating evidence‑based clinical decision making.
- Providing clinical expertise in complex situations and guiding team members.
- Planning and evaluating individualised care plans, ensuring core objectives of health promotion, disease‑specific management and end‑of‑life care are met.
- Monitoring budgets, reporting over/under spending to the budget holder, and ensuring appropriate delegation of administrative duties.
- Participating in audits, research, policy development, and providing reports to the service lead.
- Ensuring mandatory training, record keeping, and professional registration are maintained.
- Identifying skills deficits within the team and implementing training and development.
Qualifications
- HCPC registered podiatrist with experience in community podiatry and leadership capable of managing a clinical team.
