We are looking for an experienced and motivated HCPC registered Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our Community Speech and Language Therapy Service as a Band 7 Team Lead, covering the West Lancashire patch on a 12-month fixed‑term basis. This role provides visible leadership and day‑to‑day management of the clinical team, ensuring efficient, effective, and person‑centred care across a range of community settings.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and day‑to‑day management of the clinical team.
- Develop and deliver quality strategy, systems, processes, and governance within the designated area.
- Maintain caseload oversight and clinical supervision, ensuring high standards of practice.
- Act as the full line manager, delegating tasks and supporting staff development.
- Ensure the team delivers high quality services with a focus on patient experience and outcomes.
- Collaborate with other services and stakeholders to coordinate care and optimise resource utilisation.
- Implement effective rota and working pattern schedules to guarantee business continuity.
- Provide clinical expertise in complex cases, applying evidence‑based decision‑making.
- Lead service development, quality improvement, and redesign initiatives.
- Prepare and submit reports on staff and patient activity to the service lead.
- Support risk management by identifying, reporting, and mitigating incidents as per Trust policies.
- Initiate and oversee training, mentoring, and professional development for team members.
- Ensure accurate record keeping and compliance with professional standards.
- Contribute to policy development and protocol authoring as required.
- Maintain professional registration and participate in continual professional development.
