We are looking for an experienced operational support manager to work within the Digestive and Emergency Surgery Care Group. You will work directly with the General Service Manager, Head of Operations, Clinical Directors, Associate Director of Nursing and Matrons for the Care Group to ensure smooth day‑to‑day running of the service, support project delivery and contribute towards financial improvement plans.
Responsibilities
- Lead monitoring of operational performance within the care group and report findings to the General Service Manager.
- Ensure effective and timely management of cancer performance, patient referral pathways, patient target lists and inpatient/outpatient waiting lists.
- Analyse, manipulate and interpret waiting list data to support planning and performance improvement.
- Advise the General Service Manager on governance processes and other operational matters.
- Work closely with other specialities within the division and support collaborative work that affects other Care Groups.
- Manage an administration team and monitor national and local key performance indicators.
- Oversee operational processes and lead change initiatives in line with improvement plans.
- Deputise for the General Service Manager as and when required.
- Support work streams to contribute to the Cost Improvement Plan (CIP) target for the Care Group.
Qualifications
- Experience in operational management within a healthcare setting and knowledge of RTT and CWT principles, rules and guidance.
- Strong communication, staff engagement and problem‑solving skills.
