Locum Operating Department Practitioner - Wooton Lawn Hospital

Salary: £20 - £26 per hour

Contract Type: Agency

Location: Wooton Lawn Hospital - Gloucester

Shift Patterns: Tuesdays and Fridays only 08:00-12:00

What You'll Be Doing

  • Responsible for assisting in the preparation and delivery of anaesthetic procedures for patients undergoing ECT treatments.
  • Supporting the team to prepare and check specialist anaesthetic equipment and medications, including anaesthetic machines, intravenous equipment and airway management devices.
  • Responsible for monitoring patients throughout the anaesthetic and recovery process, ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times.
  • Responding promptly and effectively to any changes in a patient’s condition or potential complications during treatment.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to all clinical governance, infection control and patient confidentiality standards.
  • Providing reassurance and support to patients before, during and after treatment, recognising the sensitive nature of ECT care.

What You'll Need

  • Essential:
    • HCPC or NMC Registration (RGN/ODP)
    • Minimum of 6 months UK based Operating Theatre experience
    • Right to work in the UK (No visa sponsorship is available for this role)
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Desirable:
    • Immediate Life Support (ILS)
    • Mentoring or teaching qualification
