We are looking for a Welder Fabricator to work on a permanent basis near Oldham. The role is working Days Monday to Friday with a lunchtime finish on a Friday. Salary is £36,700 per annum plus 25 days’ holidays and bank holidays, company bonus, overtime available, healthcare, life assurance etc.
Duties for the Welder Fabricator:
- Exercise due care for personal safety and that of colleagues or others who may be impacted by your actions or omissions.
- Work collaboratively with the organization to maintain safe working practices.
- Use all safety-related tools and equipment appropriately and only for their intended purpose.
- Comply with all workplace safety procedures and participate in required training activities.
- Identify and promptly report any risks, faults, or unsafe conditions within the work environment.
- Ensure proper selection and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience for the Welder Fabricator:
- Proven experience in MIG welding is required; exposure to hard-facing techniques is advantageous (training can be provided).
- Ability to carry out quality checks on completed work (training available).
- Familiarity with TIG welding is beneficial.
- Experience with oxy-fuel welding methods, plasma cutting processes, and electric arc welding techniques is desirable.
- Background in fabrication work is beneficial.
Qualifications & Training:
- Relevant vocational qualification in welding or fabrication (e.g., NVQ or equivalent).
- Experience operating overhead cranes is advantageous.
- Forklift truck (FLT) experience is preferred; certification is beneficial.
- Confined space training is desirable (training may be provided if required).
- Valid driving licence preferred.
