Children’s Services Education, Skills & Early Years Lifelong Learning Service Community Maths and English Tutor Ref: 001280
Contract: Permanent
Salary: JNC (44 weeks term time) £35,717 pro rata SCP T109
Hours: 14.66 hours per week (0.4 FTE)
Based in the community, Oldham, Coldhurst and Werneth Park centres.
Role: To deliver high quality teaching, learning and assessment that complies with the quality standards of the service. Course delivery will include a range of non-accredited/accredited courses at pre-entry/entry levels up to Level 2 functional skills in a community setting. This includes delivery of English and Maths courses.
Responsibilities
- To create courses and prepare schemes of work, lesson plans and relevant resources for accredited and non-accredited course/s.
- To complete all appropriate administrative tasks, including completion of registers, learner agreement forms, risk assessments and records for the teaching and learning file in line with Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement (RARPA).
- To assess and mark learners’ work as appropriate to the standards of the qualification.
- Provide individual / group ongoing assessment to support learning in order to ensure achievement and progression.
- To ensure that individual learner needs are met and progress is monitored and recorded and is reflected in lesson planning.
Qualifications
- Relevant subject qualification at level 5 or equivalent
- Teaching qualification
- Excellent organisational skills to deliver teaching and learning online and face to face within the Post 19 sector; with practitioner experience in the English curriculum area.
