EQUANS is looking for a Mobile Electrician for our Rochdale and Oldham Schools contract, predominantly based in Oldham. This is a permanent full‑time role working 40 hours per week, with a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities
- General overview: This is a role for a proven 18th edition qualified Electrician.
- Supported by a strong operational team, the focus is developing, maintaining and improving the electrical systems across the four schools in the Oldham & Rochdale area, PFI estate.
- The contract involves GSHP, gas boilers and biomass as a means of supply of heat, electricity and cooling to the range of buildings.
- Demonstrate the ability to maintain plant and equipment to agreed specifications and operation.
- Develop an in‑depth knowledge of the relevant individual contracts.
- Ensure paperwork is up to date and correctly completed.
- Ensure all jobs are closed down promptly.
- Carry out the defined planned maintenance regime for all contractual obligations within the school buildings.
- Ensure Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) are in place.
- Issue the relevant working permits.
- Carry out repairs, reactive maintenance and minor installation works on plant.
- Attend, diagnose and repair faults having due regard to customer care in this specific environment.
- Carry out proactive plant monitoring activities to ensure efficient utilisation of plant and equipment.
- Interrogate operational information systems to support daily operations as well as fault diagnosis.
- Complete the relevant paperwork and report diligently.
- Any other relevant duties that may be required, some of which may be outside normal working hours.
- Undertake any necessary training to perform duties effectively.
Qualifications and Experience
- 18th Edition essential, C&G 2391 advantageous.
- Fault‑finding and practical skills.
- Able to work unsupervised and function as part of a team.
- Very strong Excel and IT skills.
- Driving licence essential.
