Cygnet Healthcare are looking for a confident, experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a passion for delivering outstanding care to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Oldbury.

At Cygnet Hospital Oldbury, you will be working 42 hours per week (07:45 AM/PM till 08:00 AM/PM), including days/nights and alternative weekends. Cygnet Hospital Oldbury is our state-of-the-art PICU & Acute hospital for women, in the West Midlands. The service has two wards, a 12-bed PICU ward and a 15-bed Acute ward. Cygnet Hospital Oldbury has a full multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and supports the acute needs of adults requiring rapid access to mental health services, including those who may need an intensive care environment. We're focused on length of stay and making sure individuals move as quickly and safely as possible from our services to the most appropriate and least restrictive environment for them. Individuals can step down through the pathways available within Cygnet services. Referrals can come to us from all areas, including other acute services and prison services.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • You'll be working 42 hours a week in the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit and the Acute Service for Adult Females.
  • Produce outstanding written reports based on your nursing assessments and observations.
  • Work closely with the management team to develop the service, audit and improve quality.
  • Attend all training and engage in CPD to further knowledge & promote nursing.
  • Under NMC guidelines, ensure that individual care plans are complete & maintained collectively with residents, relatives and other healthcare professionals.
  • Administer prescribed medicines with Healthcare procedure and Healthcare Commission guidelines.
  • You are open, compassionate, honest & resilient.
  • Newly Qualified or Experienced RMN with a current Pin Number.
  • Capable to maintain documentation and undertake audits.
  • Well informed of the Mental Health Act 1983 & have an understanding of latest nursing practices.
  • Able to deputise in a clinical lead role.
  • Focused on patient recovery to monitor, manage & reduce risk.
  • Helping to empower & support service user independence.
