E&P Insulations Ltd was founded in 1982 and is now a family run company. The team have many years’ experience across all of their services and they pride themselves in their quality of work and service to all their customers. We carry out work ranging from maintenance to new installations of insulation and metal cladding on chemical plants, food factories, new builds, and specialist contracts, mainly across Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex. We are also a member of the Safecontractor scheme. E&P Insulations Ltd fabricates a variety of sheet metal coverings for individual requirements from our own workshops. We also offer trace heating services and laboratory testing.
A Thermal Insulation Operative is responsible for installing and maintaining a variety of insulation systems in various settings. This job involves working with a variety of insulation materials, such as fibreglass, foam, nitrile rubber and cellotex and installing them onto ventilation ducting, pipework and other areas of buildings/industrial sites to improve energy efficiency, assure safety, and reduce heating and cooling costs. The role also includes intricate metal work, measuring and fabricating using templates.
The specific job and responsibilities of a Thermal Insulation Operative may include:
- Measuring and cutting insulation materials to fit specific spaces, using tools such as knives, scissors, and saws.
- Installing insulation and metal onto pipework, ductwork, valves, flanges, vessels & tanks using fasteners, adhesives, and other materials as necessary.
- Ensuring that insulation is properly sealed and fitted to prevent air leakage and maximise energy efficiency.
- Removing old or damaged insulation materials and disposing of them safely.
- Communicating with clients.
- Working safely and efficiently to complete insulation projects on time and within budget.
- Keeping accurate records of work completed, materials used and other relevant information.
- Reading and understanding risk and method statements and applying these on site, in terms of stringent Health & safety requirements by ourselves and our customers.
- Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order and ensuring that they are properly cleaned and stored after use.
