Shropshire Council is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Revenues Manager to oversee the delivery of our Council Tax, NNDR and BID billing services. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring legal compliance, high-quality service delivery and strong financial performance across all revenues functions.
Responsibilities
- Lead Revenues Operations: Manage the end-to-end delivery of Council Tax, NNDR and BID billing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure Legal & Statutory Compliance: Interpret complex legislation and oversee statutory returns including CTB1, QRC4, NNDR1 and NNDR.
- Drive Performance & Improvement: Monitor KPIs, accuracy levels and service outcomes, ensuring continuous improvement across the service.
- Lead Debt Recovery Strategy: Promote effective debt management and oversee write-off recommendations within agreed limits.
- Manage Systems & Processes: Ensure revenues systems are maintained, optimised and used effectively by all teams.
- Lead and develop Team Managers: Oversee training programmes and embed a culture of accountability and high performance.
- Oversee Budgets & Risk: Manage service budgets, identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
You must have previous proven experience in Council Tax & NNDR Legislation.
