Kelly Bros Ltd is a family‑run business based in Yate near Bristol, providing road markings and trailer‑mounted LED signs throughout the UK. We are looking to fill a new position for a vehicle & trailer maintenance mechanic.
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and motivated mechanic to join our team. This is a full‑time position focused on servicing and repairing brake‑LED sign trailers and company vehicles, ensuring the fleet is maintained to the highest safety and operational standards. While primarily workshop‑based, the role will also require some on‑site servicing, deployment of sign trailers during busy periods, and flexibility with working hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and repair brake‑LED sign trailers and fleet vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and basic electrical faults.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Complete on‑site servicing when required.
- Assist with delivery and deployment of sign trailers during busy periods.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and to a high standard.
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment.
Skills & Experience Required
- Mechanical or engineering experience (essential).
- Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- 12‑V electrical experience (advantageous but not essential).
- Welding experience (advantageous).
- Full driver’s licence, including ability to tow 1500 kg trailers with 3.5 T vehicles.
- Training will be provided where required for the right candidate.
