About the Role
- Support pupils within a Welsh immersion unit who are new to the Welsh language
- Develop children's speech, vocabulary, and early language acquisition skills through structured support and informal interaction
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access the curriculum through Welsh
- Support two pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), ensuring their learning, communication, and emotional needs are met alongside their education
- Work closely with class teachers and the ALN team to deliver consistent, inclusive support
- Help create a nurturing, language‑rich environment that encourages confidence in Welsh speaking and listening
Who Can Apply?
- Fluent in Welsh (spoken and written)
- Experience working with children or transferable skills from childcare, education, or support roles
- Confidence supporting both language development and additional learning needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
- Two recent professional references
- All applicants shall possess the appropriate qualifications and training for this role
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. The option to make the role permanent may become available at a later date.
