We’re recruiting an IMI Level 3 qualified mechanic at Newport Workshop on a Permanent basis with the potential to earn up to £45K including overtime.
Salary & Working Hours
- Working Hours: Full time • 39.5 hours per week (rotating shift pattern; week 1: 06:00–14:24, week 2: 09:36–18:00). You will be required to work 1 in 3 Saturdays (with a weekday day off).
- Salary: £39,715 per annum.
- Additional weekend supplement on Saturday (£52.10 per shift) is applicable.

With a fleet of over 49,000 vehicles, including traditional fuel and electric vehicles, LCVs and HGVs, maintaining our vehicles is a true team effort. Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
- Use your own personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair light/heavy goods vehicles.
- Also have access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in our modern, fully equipped workshops.
About you
- Qualified mechanic: fully qualified to an advanced level (IMI Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent). You’ve got your own toolkit for standard repairs.
- Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles, e.g., LCV/HGV.
- Valid UK driving licence: Hold a full manual UK driving licence, preferably an HGV licence with trailer experience.
- High working standards: Take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively.
- Flexible to service demands: Able to work on a flexible shift rota. Willing to support your team where necessary.
