Wheels for All is a nationally recognised initiative that embraces people with differing needs to engage in the world of cycling, by using specially adapted cycles for safe, fun, and inclusive sessions.
We are looking for additional Session Leaders to join us on a casual basis starting this Spring through to the Autumn, to deliver these fantastic sessions to children, young people, and adults, at Tredegar Park. Full training is provided.
Main responsibilities include:
- Supporting participants during induction, including assessing ability and recommending appropriate cycles and equipment
- Help participants navigate cycling routes safely and confidently
- Lead group rides, providing guidance and encouragement in line with session objectives
- Actively engage and encourage participation, supporting confidence and continued involvement
- Maintain accurate participant and session records in line with data protection legislation
- Ensure the safe management and care of cycles, equipment and other resources
- Assist with preparation, set up, and clearing of session resources
- Take part in relevant training and maintain a safe working environment
Wheels for All Leader Training will be provided for all successful applicants.
Essential skills, qualifications and experiences for your application:
- Emergency First Aid certificate essential for the role but not your application
- Awareness of safeguarding and child protection procedures, and the ability to apply them in practice
- Experience working in customer-facing roles
- Experience working directly with children, young people, or adults
- Ability to communicate clearly and inclusively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to lead and organise groups safely and inclusively
- Able to safely use and handle equipment required for the role, including lifting and moving cycles or other session resources as needed
Beneficial skills, qualifications and experiences for your application:
- Experience working with people with disabilities in a health, physical activity, or wellbeing setting
- Basic cycle care knowledge (such as pumping tyres)
- Knowledge of safe session delivery and risk assessment principles
- Ability to communicate in Welsh, or any other languages in addition to English
Hours: casual basis available sessions will be published in advance for you to accept which you are able to commit to work. Wheels for All is due to re-launch in mid-April and will last through to October or November 2026. Sessions are scheduled for 09:30-15:30 on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with additional sessions planned for Mondays during the six-week summer holidays.
Pay: £12.60 per hour (current Real Living Wage)

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to a successful Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
