The Best Connection is currently recruiting for a Service Assembly & Warehouse Operative on behalf of a well‑established and growing company based in Cwmbran. This is a permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and expanding team.

The Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for a combination of service assembly, workshop duties, and warehouse operations, supporting the day‑to‑day running of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out in‑house assembly, overhaul, and testing of equipment
  • Monitoring and controlling stock from work‑in‑progress through to finished goods
  • Receiving, inspecting, and dispatching goods, ensuring accurate stock control
  • Operating equipment safely, including forklifts, tools, and testing equipment
  • Planning and meeting workshop schedules
  • Coordinating inbound and outbound deliveries with freight partners
  • Maintaining workshop and stores areas, including tools and equipment
  • Following all health & safety procedures and using PPE correctly
  • Supporting compliance with quality systems and general business operations

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Mechanically minded with hands‑on practical ability
  • Mechanical and/or electrical experience (advantageous)
  • Good communication and problem‑solving skills
  • Experience with IT systems and stock/inventory systems
  • Flexible and proactive approach to work
  • Forklift/Counterbalance experience or licence (preferred)

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:00
Friday: 07:30 - 15:00
39 hours per week

Salary

£28,000 per annum
