We are recruiting for a MOT Technician on behalf of our client, a leading automotive service centre and tyre retailer with multiple locations nationwide, based in Newport.
This MOT Technician role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals seeking to join a busy, reputable business within the motor trade sector.
- Competitive starting salary approximately Β£32,500 per annum, negotiable based on experience
- Monthly performance-related bonuses averaging Β£3,600 per year

42.5-hour week, over five days, Monday to Friday with alternating Saturdays (8:00am-4:00pm) and weekdays off - Enhanced holiday entitlement and optional overtime
Duties of a MOT Technician:
- Conduct MOT tests in compliance with Ministry standards
- Diagnose and repair vehicle faults efficiently and accurately
- Assist with vehicle servicing and repairs as required
- Support the workshop team to ensure high standards of quality and efficiency
- Provide excellent customer service, including occasional front reception assistance
- Produce high-quality work within specified time frames
- Maintain accurate documentation and records
Requirements of a MOT Technician:
- Proven experience as a MOT Technician
- Valid MOT licence and UK driving licence with minimal points
- Knowledge of current MOT standards and vehicle repair procedures
- Friendly, professional, and approachable manner
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Reside within reasonable commuting distance of Newport
