Job Overview
Smart Solutions is recruiting an experienced Shovel and 360 Operator for a client based in Newport. This role offers stable, full‑time work within a busy recycling and waste transfer operation that is growing.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Loading Shovel and 360 Excavator machinery within the recycling yard and waste transfer site
- Load, move, sort, and stockpile recyclable materials and waste streams
- Feed shredders, screening equipment, and processing machinery while maintaining production levels
- Carry out daily vehicle and machinery inspections and report defects promptly
- Assist with loading and unloading customer and supplier vehicles
- Ensure recyclable materials are separated correctly to minimise contamination
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Follow all health & safety and environmental procedures on site
Requirements
- Experience operating Loading Shovel and 360 Excavator machinery
- In‑house or lapsed licences will be considered
- Confident operating machinery, as assessments will be carried out on site
- Strong awareness of health & safety procedures
- Reliable and hardworking attitude
