A Trainee Teacher of Science is required to join a supportive and forward‑thinking alternative provision in Newcastle from September 2026. This role offers the chance to gain classroom experience while pursuing a structured programme leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Working within a specialist setting, you will support and inspire young people who require an alternative approach to education, helping them achieve academically and personally.

Key responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivering engaging Science lessons across your subject specialism
  • Supporting students with a range of educational and pastoral needs
  • Developing your understanding of inclusive teaching practices, behaviour support and trauma-informed approaches
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress
  • Creating a positive and supportive learning environment
  • Participating fully in academy life, enrichment activities and wider school events
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development and training leading towards QTS
