We are seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of Science to join a supportive secondary school in Newcastle from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for both Early Career Teachers and experienced practitioners who are committed to delivering engaging and high-quality Science lessons that inspire students to achieve their full potential.

The Role

As a Teacher of Science, you will be responsible for delivering an engaging and challenging curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience and specialism. You will join a successful and collaborative Science department, working closely with colleagues to drive achievement and foster a love of learning amongst students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons that engage and challenge learners
  • Monitor, assess and record student progress effectively
  • Differentiating teaching to meet the needs of all learners
  • Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental improvement
  • Engage fully in the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and parents' evenings
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student outcomes and wellbeing

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Ability to teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Science education
  • Excellent classroom management skills
  • A commitment to raising attainment and supporting student progress
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents
  • ECTs and experienced teachers are encouraged
