We are currently recruiting for a Lead CAD / CAM Programmer to join an industry leading manufacturer in Neath. This is a great opportunity to join at a time where they are growing significantly due to a number of recent long term contract wins.
As Lead CAD / CAM Programmer you will:
- Supervise a team of two other programmers
- Create programmes using Edge Cam software for all manufactured part numbers
- Review all part drawings to ensure production has the correct tooling for the optimum manufacturing processes
- Support all engineers and apprentices who operate the machining cells, with any of their day-to-day machining issues
- Drive continuous improvement projects to improve machining efficiencies and overall productivity
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects with the wider Engineering Team
- Support running of machining cells in times of absence and critical machining jobs as well as carry out CNC machine training for new and less experienced team members
- Ensure that all programmes and tool lists are complete upfront of works order scheduling on machining cells
- Demonstrate the ability to control all machining cell tooling spend
- Lead tooling trials with the relevant tooling manufacturers
