Your new company are a leader in their field, based in Nantwich and are looking for a Financial Controller to join their team on a permanent basis.
Your new role
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and long-term financial plans for the site.
- Produce accurate monthly management accounts, reporting packs and insightful variance analysis.
- Monitor costs, standard costing, inventory valuation, labour efficiency and overhead absorption.
- Partner with the site leadership team, providing commercial insight to support operational and strategic decisions.
- Identify financial risks, opportunities and cost-saving initiatives to improve profitability and performance.
- Manage capital expenditure reporting, investment appraisals and return-on-investment analysis.
- Support product, customer and margin analysis to inform pricing and product-mix decisions.
- Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external audit activity and support year-end reporting.
- Work closely with production, supply chain and engineering teams to improve inventory accuracy and working capital.
- Support continuous improvement projects, KPI reporting and the development of financial systems and processes.
What you'll need to succeed
- ACCA/ CIMA qualified
- Strong experience in an engineering finance or cost accounting role.
- Strong ERP and Excel experience
- Effectively manage and lead a small finance team
- A commercially focused approach and the ability to turn complex data into clear, practical insight.
- Strong communication and business-partnering skills, with the confidence to influence operational and senior stakeholders.
- A proactive, hands-on mindset with a focus on controls, process improvement and delivering results.
- High levels of accuracy, integrity and the ability to work effectively both independently and across teams.
