Would you like to be part of an expanding SEND provision for students with Additional Educational Needs? We are looking for Learning Support Assistants (x 5) to work 27.5 hours per week, during term time, plus 3 INSET days, Monday to Friday, 8:30-3:00 with an hours break (unpaid). This role is initially fixed term up to 23rd July 2027. There may be opportunities for the role to be extended for the following academic year depending on funding.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with children with a range of SEND
  • Understanding of the national curriculum framework and know how to adapt activities to suit the needs of the learner
  • Good understanding of how to modify and adapt the school day to meet the needs of an individual child
  • Ability to be flexible, positive and good-humoured; proactively seeking creative ways of meeting children's needs
  • Good levels of written and spoken English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-class support to KS3 classes or support an individual pupil with 1:1 SEN support
  • Support teachers to differentiate class work where required
  • Give clear and effective support to secure pupil progress whilst assessing the development
  • Progress the attainment of pupils
  • Provide assessment feedback to teachers
  • Use IT systems to record student progress and contribute to reviewing of student educational healthcare plans where appropriate
