We are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to lead classes and interventions for pupils with SEMH needs.
Responsibilities- Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities under supervision.
- Teach small groups or whole classes consistently within agreed frameworks.
- Support individual, group and class learning and social‑emotional development.
- Coach and support colleagues to develop practice.
- Deliver measurable impact on student attainment and well‑being.
- Understanding of classroom roles and how a teaching assistant supports students.
- Ability to engage students and manage behaviour in one‑to‑one or small group settings.
- Commitment to undertake relevant qualifications (NVQ Level 2/3 in supporting teaching and learning or equivalent, first aid qualification).
- Strong interpersonal skills, empathy and active listening.
- Strong planning and organisational skills for learning activities and support materials.
- Interest and commitment to inclusion and acceptance of all children.
About Lime Hills Academy: Special school for young people years 5‑11 with EHCP to support their SEMH needs, operating across secondary (Weston) and primary (Nailsea) sites.
