The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for a proven Production Supervisor to join a well‑established chemical manufacturing business and take ownership of day‑to‑day operations. As Production Supervisor you’ll ensure safe, compliant and efficient delivery against the production plan.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily plant operations to ensure production targets are achieved in line with S&OP while maintaining strict safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance activities and plant outages in collaboration with engineering, maintenance, and planning teams.
  • Lead, audit, and support site personnel to ensure full compliance with operating procedures, permits to work, and safe systems of work.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including reviewing operating practices, implementing enhancements, and progressing operator‑led improvement ideas.
  • Act as a key point of leadership during incidents, shutdowns, commissioning activities, and out‑of‑hours operational support when required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A minimum of HNC/HND in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, or significant experience gained within complex process plant operations.
  • Proven experience supervising teams within a chemical or process manufacturing environment, with the ability to motivate and influence others.
  • Strong understanding of high risk operations, including permit‑to‑work systems, risk assessments, and incident management.
  • Solid technical knowledge of chemical plant equipment and processes, with a methodical and improvement‑focused mindset.
  • Good IT capability, including Microsoft Office applications, with exposure to ERP systems such as SAP being advantageous.

Nice To Have

  • Experience leading teams in COMAH, ATEX, or similarly regulated process plants, where safety‑critical operations are part of daily work.
