We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Monmouthshire to assist the appointment of a Grounds Operative on a 2‑month contract, highly likely to be extended at client discretion.

Rate of Pay: £12.85 – £16.62 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out grounds maintenance duties across public open spaces, verges, schools, and contracted sites.
  • Operate individually or as part of a team to maintain green and sustainable environments.
  • Support street services operations including litter picking, fly‑tipping response, and environmental maintenance activities.
  • Maintain safe working practices in line with Health & Safety legislation and Council policies.
  • Undertake duties in a professional, polite and orderly manner.
  • Participate in emergency response duties including flooding, snow clearance and storm response when required.

Essential Requirements:

  • Full clean UK driving licence.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Flexible approach to working hours and seasonal working patterns.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to participate in emergency and standby rotas.
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom.

Additional Information:

  • Availability: Immediate or short notice.
  • Enhanced DBS is required if the role requires it; the DBS must be provided through us or accompanied by a subscription to the DBS updating service.
