Role Information:

Location: Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and install components including machined parts, brackets, and other assembled parts.
  • Work from engineering drawings, technical specifications and associated design data.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed within allocated timeframes and to required quality standards.
  • Follow company production processes, procedures and configuration control requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail.
  • Comply with all health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Identify and report any issues, defects or non-conformances during assembly.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including lean and 5S activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and compliant work area.
  • Ensure tools, equipment and materials are used correctly and maintained in good condition.
  • Accurately complete required documentation, including timesheets and job records.
  • Support production meetings or team briefings where required.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a hands‑on role requiring manual dexterity, precision and accuracy.
  • Background in any practical trade (e.g. mechanical fitting, vehicle body building, fabrication, construction or similar).
  • Proven ability to work with tools and assemble components to fine tolerances.
  • Experience working in a workshop, site or manufacturing environment is beneficial.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Apprenticeship (e.g. City & Guilds) or equivalent in a relevant trade (desirable).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical information.
  • Understanding of basic assembly and installation techniques.
  • Familiarity with workshop or site‑based health and safety practices.
  • Basic knowledge of production processes and methods.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).

Additional Requirements:

  • Onsite working.
  • Candidate will need to be able to obtain BPSS clearance.
