Role Information:
Location: Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales
Responsibilities:
- Assemble and install components including machined parts, brackets, and other assembled parts.
- Work from engineering drawings, technical specifications and associated design data.
- Ensure all tasks are completed within allocated timeframes and to required quality standards.
- Follow company production processes, procedures and configuration control requirements.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail.
- Comply with all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Identify and report any issues, defects or non-conformances during assembly.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including lean and 5S activities.
- Maintain a clean, organised and compliant work area.
- Ensure tools, equipment and materials are used correctly and maintained in good condition.
- Accurately complete required documentation, including timesheets and job records.
- Support production meetings or team briefings where required.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a hands‑on role requiring manual dexterity, precision and accuracy.
- Background in any practical trade (e.g. mechanical fitting, vehicle body building, fabrication, construction or similar).
- Proven ability to work with tools and assemble components to fine tolerances.
- Experience working in a workshop, site or manufacturing environment is beneficial.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Apprenticeship (e.g. City & Guilds) or equivalent in a relevant trade (desirable).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical information.
- Understanding of basic assembly and installation techniques.
- Familiarity with workshop or site‑based health and safety practices.
- Basic knowledge of production processes and methods.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
Additional Requirements:
- Onsite working.
- Candidate will need to be able to obtain BPSS clearance.
