Where will you be working? At M Group Highways, we’re supporting the safe transportation and movement of people across the UK. We don’t just build roads and bridges— we’re building a better future, creating lasting social value that gives back to the communities in which we work. You’ll be joining our Highways maintenance team, as the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor. Our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions. We offer a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.
What will you be doing? You’ll work as part of a team undertaking highways repairs, ranging from potholes, patching, drainage, footways and general highway maintenance. You’ll use technology (tablets/apps) to input safety data and maintenance records. Driving and operating plant and equipment where trained, necessary for the day to day tasks set. We’ll ask you to take responsibility for vehicles, plant and materials in your charge. Providing direction or supervision of the work to less experienced operatives when appropriate. Part of the role is to undertake winter and emergency maintenance out of hours activities on a standby rota.
What you’ll bring:
- A clean driving licence
- A commitment to health and safety
- Good communication skills and basic literacy and numeracy
- LGV Class C driving licence or demonstrate capability to support investment of LGV Class C training during probationary period
- CSCS card
- Ability to undertake a high level of manual work and work outdoors in all weathers
