ABC Leisure Group is the UK’s largest operator of luxury self‑drive narrowboats and canal side holiday accommodation across 17 marinas. In addition, we offer leisure and visitor moorings at our marinas as well as boat sales, boat servicing and repairs along with everything else associated with narrowboats. Helping our customers escape to a slower pace of life on or near our Inland Waterways is our passion. If you think you could help us achieve this, then we would love to hear from you.
Duties to include general marina duties, servicing, fault finding and repair of hire and private canal boats both on and off site. Applicants should be competent in maintenance and repair of small marine diesel engines, gearboxes, drive systems and other boat equipment such as electrical, plumbing and heating. Understanding of 240V and 12V systems and LPG Gas systems would be an advantage.
Must be fit, self‑motivated and able to deal effectively with customers. Marina Technicians will be required to provide cover for breakdowns on a rota basis both in and out of normal working hours. Hold a valid UK driving licence (minimum category B) with access to own transport with insurance that covers ‘business use’. This job is varied requiring flexible working and the ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision. Ability to work weekends essential and a weekend allowance is paid for weekend working. Job specific training will be given for those applying with transferable skills.
