The predicted salary is between 37338 - 44962 £ per year.

We are seeking scrub practitioners, preferably with ophthalmic experience, to work in our dedicated Ophthalmic Theatres within the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital and occasionally at other hospitals within the trust. As one of the largest eye hospitals in Europe, we provide a busy and varied suite of five operating theatres for eye surgery. The role requires proven skills and the ability to care for patients across all ages, from neonates to the elderly.

Key responsibilities:

  • The post holder will prioritise, assess, plan, evaluate and deliver all relevant aspects of care to an agreed and expected high standard.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team and contribute to the clinical governance process.
  • Act as a mentor/preceptor to junior staff, with specific responsibility for pre‑registration students.
  • Participate fully in structured competency‑based programmes, as required.
  • Take delegated responsibility for the management of the clinical team on a shift basis, ensuring effective team management and the maintenance of high standards of quality care.

The role is primarily based in the Theatre Department of the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital but may include work in other theatres within the trust on occasion.
