The ‘Trust’ Specialty Training Lead (TSTL) will oversee the training, education and pastoral support for the ST2 Academy Placement based at Altrincham Health & Wellbeing Centre. They will hold face‑to‑face activities on site regularly.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Clinical Supervisor during the 3‑month placement, organising and conducting placement appraisals, and supporting completion of WPBAs and educational portfolio requirements.
- Conduct initial, mid, and end‑of‑post appraisal meetings.
- Oversee annual and sick leave arrangements for trainees.
- Apply Lead Employer policies to support occupational health, risk assessment, and absence management of trainees, in partnership with the Programme Support team and HR Management.
- Ensure the ST2 Academy teaching programme delivers education based on the RCR curriculum, working with the Academy Director, Curriculum Leads and Clinical Lecturers.
- Maintain a pre‑agreed “Academy Day” or academy time within the job plan before appointment.
- Collaborate with the Academy Director, Head of School, TPDs and Programme Support to deliver operational aspects of the NW School of Radiology Academy placement.
- Develop and implement a robust radiology curriculum that supports the recruitment and retention of Radiology Trainees, focusing on regional education programmes.
- Support the Long‑Term Workforce plan, particularly the expansion of the imaging workforce as outlined in the Richard Reports.
