Your new company An established and growing environmental consultancy is seeking a Senior Acoustic Consultant to join its expanding team.
The organisation delivers specialist acoustic and noise consultancy services across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, industrial, infrastructure and mixed-use development projects throughout the UK. Your new role As a Senior Acoustic Consultant, you will take responsibility for managing and delivering a wide range of acoustic projects, supporting clients through the planning, design and construction process.
You will work closely with planners, architects, engineers and other stakeholders, providing high-quality technical advice and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing acoustic projects from inception through to completion.
- Undertaking environmental noise and vibration assessments.
- Carrying out site surveys, monitoring and data analysis.
- Preparing detailed technical reports for planning and environmental compliance.
- Providing acoustic design advice for a variety of development sectors.
- Liaising directly with clients, local authorities and project teams.
- Supporting and mentoring junior consultants.
- Contributing to business development activities and nurturing client relationships.
What you'll need to succeed
- A degree in Acoustics, Physics, Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
- Significant consultancy experience within the acoustics sector.
- Strong knowledge of UK acoustic standards and guidance, including BS4142, BS8233, BS5228 and relevant planning policies.
- Experience delivering environmental noise, vibration and building acoustics projects.
- Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
- Proficiency with acoustic modelling software such as CadnaA, SoundPLAN or equivalent.
- Membership of the Institute of Acoustics or progress towards chartered status would be advantageous.
- A full UK driving licence.
