GI Medicine at MFT is undergoing significant investment and transformation. We are expanding services and require an enthusiastic doctor at registrar (ST) level in the department of Gastroenterology at North Manchester General Hospital to support wards, out‑patient activity and endoscopy services. The role involves working across North Manchester General Hospital, Manchester Royal Infirmary, Wythenshawe Hospital and Trafford General Hospital, collaborating with consultants for tertiary endoscopy services and acquiring new skills in a supportive learning environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing clinical care on gastroenterology wards and out‑patients clinics.
  • Participating in endoscopy procedures, including EUS, capsule endoscopy and tertiary ERCP.
  • Supporting endoscopy and elective services with evening and weekend duties on a rota basis.
  • Assisting with ward rounds, research activities and acute medical skill development.

Applicants will be expected to join a team of eight gastroenterologists and work on a GIM on‑call rota.

Qualifications:

  • GMC registration in the UK.
  • Commitment to attaining MRCP; current entry to MRCP or equivalent.
  • Experience or training in gastroenterology and endoscopy preferred.
