We are seeking a Senior Locally Employed Doctor to join the Emergency Medicine Team at Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. The role supports a busy Emergency Department serving over 100,000 patients annually, working within a Paediatric Emergency Department, Urgent Treatment Centre, Resuscitation area and Same Day Emergency Care unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional patient care in adult and paediatric acute emergencies.
- Manage and treat paediatric and adult patients in the Emergency Department.
- Participate in simulation sessions and ultrasound training.
- Attend daily dedicated consultant shifts and mentor trainees.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and bespoke training programmes.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Current GMC registration (active or pending). Candidates must hold a valid registration at the time of application.
- Experience in emergency medicine or a related acute care specialty.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Strong communication, teamwork and leadership skills.
