We are seeking a Senior Locally Employed Doctor to join the Emergency Medicine Team at Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. The role supports a busy Emergency Department serving over 100,000 patients annually, working within a Paediatric Emergency Department, Urgent Treatment Centre, Resuscitation area and Same Day Emergency Care unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional patient care in adult and paediatric acute emergencies.
  • Manage and treat paediatric and adult patients in the Emergency Department.
  • Participate in simulation sessions and ultrasound training.
  • Attend daily dedicated consultant shifts and mentor trainees.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and bespoke training programmes.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Current GMC registration (active or pending). Candidates must hold a valid registration at the time of application.
  • Experience in emergency medicine or a related acute care specialty.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Strong communication, teamwork and leadership skills.

Ensure you hold a current GMC registration. Tier 5 sponsorship is not supported; applicants requiring Tier 5 must apply through the Academy of Royal College via the MTI Scheme. Candidates not meeting this criterion will not progress through shortlisting.
