Applications are invited for a senior LED fellowship based at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital (RMCH) for the clinical management of children with congenital hyperinsulinism and paediatric endocrine disorders. The Paediatric Endocrinology service at RMCH is the largest in the UK. The post is fixed-term up to 2 years and offers up to 2 days per week for research.
Main duties of the job:
- Undertaking ward rounds
- Supporting management of endocrine patients admitted in the day case unit
- Taking part in continuous professional development activities
- Undertaking quality improvement projects and protocol development
- Participating in the appraisal process
Person Specification:
- Training: Previous appointments which provided professional training in a related medical specialty ST3 level or above
- Professional Qualifications: Full registration with the General Medical Council, MRCPCH, APLS
- Clinical Experience: Previous experience in paediatric endocrinology
- Management/Audit: Experience of participation in clinical audit
- Teaching: Experience of teaching medical and other staff
- Research Publications: Evidence of recent and current research with relevant publications
- Professional Interests: Membership of appropriate professional society(ies). Knowledge of the up-to-date literature
- Personal Skills: Ability to communicate and liaise effectively with patients, their parents and other relatives and with colleagues of all disciplines
- Teamwork: Ability to work as a team with professional colleagues both medical and other disciplines
