Join the General Paediatric research operational team as a pivotal point of contact for Paediatric Nephrology research, supporting translational studies into kidney disease in children and families. Paediatric Nephrology research is funded by MRC, NIHR, Wellcome Trust and kidney charities, and we collaborate with industry, national and international partners. Current programmes cover clinical trials ranging from early phase studies to novel surgical techniques, cell biology biomarkers and developmental biology genetics.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for the Paediatric Nephrology research support team, working with the Trust Research Office, clinical colleagues, service support departments and pharmaceutical companies.
  • Ensure comprehensive, high‑quality and efficient administrative processes for setup and coordination of studies, ensuring full compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and the regulatory framework to support successful delivery of the research portfolio.
  • Coordinate the delivery and monitoring of clinical trials, including early phase studies, biomarkers, genetics and novel surgical techniques.
  • Maintain sound knowledge of research governance, legislation and inspection requirements (e.g., MHRA, HTA) and experience of NHS governance and approval systems.
  • Provide effective communication, organisation and workload management; cross‑site collaboration across research campuses when required.

Qualifications

  • Health‑service background with knowledge and/or experience of research, clinical trials coordination, delivery and monitoring.
  • Sound knowledge of research governance, legislation and regulatory frameworks (e.g., MHRA, HTA).
  • Exceptional communication and organisational skills.
  • Excellent IT skills and ability to work with several projects simultaneously.
  • Highly motivated, able to use initiative to resolve problems, flexible and able to work collaboratively within the team and R&I.
