Band 3 Rehabilitation Assistant in the Trauma and Orthopaedics Team at Wythenshawe Hospital. You will work as part of the Trauma and Orthopaedic Therapy team to support qualified physiotherapists and occupational therapists in providing therapeutic care and rehabilitation to patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist qualified physiotherapists and occupational therapists in delivering high‑quality rehabilitation care and facilitating safe discharge from hospital.
- Carry out treatment programmes as directed, reporting back to the clinical team.
- Work independently with your own caseload, motivating and encouraging patients to maximise their rehabilitation potential.
- Participate in multidisciplinary handovers, board rounds and feeding information to and from the therapy team.
- Perform administrative tasks, equipment management, note writing, and data collection for audit purposes.
- Maintain general IT skills and knowledge of the Hive Electronic Patient Record system.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience working on a hospital ward and in a healthcare setting.
- Skill and confidence in moving and handling patients.
- Excellent communication skills with patients, families and multidisciplinary team members.
- Empathetic nature and willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Basic IT proficiency and readiness to use the hospital’s electronic record system.
