Our client provides therapeutic residential care for children and young people aged 11â17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties. They are seeking an experienced Registered Childrenâs Home Manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of a regulated childrenâs home, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding and compliance.

Are you the right person for the job?
This role is suited to an established Registered Manager with proven experience in the sector and a strong track record of managing childrenâs residential services.
What you will have:
- Extensive experience working in childrenâs health and social care, supporting looked-after children and young people
- A minimum of 2 yearsâ experience (within the past 5 years) working with children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties (BESD) in a childrenâs residential or equivalent setting
- At least 1 year of senior-level experience in a care setting, supervising and managing staff
- Experience of effectively managing and delivering regulated services
- Strong experience working within safeguarding and child protection frameworks
- Proven experience managing Ofsted inspections, achieving a minimum overall rating of âGoodâ
- Experience of working within a therapeutic care environment
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding and compliance
- A full UK driving licence
- A calm, resilient and child-focused leadership style
- Experience recruiting, supervising, appraising and managing staff performance
- Confidence managing audits, inspections and regulatory requirements
What will your role look like?
- Full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Childrenâs Home
- Leading, motivating, recruiting and developing a skilled staff team
- Ensuring compliance with Ofsted, legislation and the Statement of Purpose
- Managing Ofsted inspections and implementing recommendations
- Completing Regulation 44 and 45 reports and notifying Ofsted of significant events
- Embedding robust safeguarding practices in line with organisational and Local Authority procedures
- Overseeing staffing levels, rotas and training compliance
- Managing budgets and supporting occupancy targets
- Maintaining accurate records, registers and reporting systems
- Managing complaints, incidents and investigations, using learning to drive improvement
- Building strong relationships with professionals, families and commissioners
- Working flexibly to ensure the safe delivery of the service
