Key Responsibilities
- Patient Reception & Customer Service: Provide a warm, professional welcome to patients and visitors. Manage patient queries both in person and over the telephone. Direct patients to appropriate services in line with practice protocols.
- Administrative Duties: Manage appointment bookings, cancellations and enquiries using the EMIS clinical system. Print, scan, code and file documents using Docman. Process online patient requests through AccuRx and clinical triage systems. Handle repeat prescription requests in line with practice procedures. Maintain accurate and up to date patient records. Support clinicians with administrative tasks to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Clinical System & IT Use: Confidently use EMIS Web, Docman, AccuRx, and online triage platforms as part of daily duties. Use Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel) to support communication and workflow. Follow information governance, confidentiality requirements and data protection regulations at all times.
- Teamwork & Practice Support: Work collaboratively with the reception and administrative team. Report any issues or concerns promptly to the management team. Contribute to maintaining a calm, organised and patient focused reception environment. Adapt to changes in practice processes or requirements.
- Other Duties: Undertake training and development as required for the role. Carry out any other reasonable duties relevant to the position.
