Manchester Royal Eye Hospital (Oxford campus) is an acute teaching hospital. We are looking for compassionate and caring Nursing Assistants to support the patient care journey in our theatres.

Responsibilities

  • Assist registered nurses and the multidisciplinary team in delivering high‑quality patient care.
  • Support the efficient running of operating theatres.
  • Assist registered practitioners and ensure that services delivered to patients and families are of the highest standard.
  • Communicate sensitively and compassionately with patients, relatives and team members.
  • Work flexibly across day and night shifts over 7 days a week.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience as a Nursing Assistant is preferred.
  • Knowledge of clinical procedures and ability to support registered practitioners.
  • Commitment to compassionate, patient‑focused care.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced theatre environment and as part of a team.

Training & Development

New hires will undergo a Support Worker Development Programme and may progress into a Band 3 Nursing Assistant role. Skills analysis and relevant clinical skills modules will support progression to Band 3 where gaps are identified.
