We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Navigation Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our internal seclusion provision. The successful candidate will ensure that students are supervised appropriately, behaviour is managed consistently, and academy policies and procedures are applied fairly and effectively.

We are looking for a special person who combines warmth with high expectations and understands that effective behaviour management requires both consistency and compassion. You will be confident and regimented in your approach, while building positive relationships that enable students to make better choices and succeed. We recognise that adverse childhood experiences can present significant barriers to education, behaviour and academic progress. The successful candidate will understand that some students require additional support, structure and encouragement during their time at school. You will be committed to helping these young people overcome barriers, develop resilience and take responsibility for their choices.

Our values of Politeness, Hard Work and Honesty are at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for someone who genuinely believes that these values help to develop young people of good character. Working with small groups of students, you will reinforce these principles, model the highest standards and help embed The Droylsden Way.

The Navigation Manager will also play an important role in the restorative process, supporting students to reflect on their behaviour, understand the impact of their choices and develop strategies to prevent poor behaviour from being repeated. This is an important role for someone who wants to make a genuine difference. You will be joining a committed, talented and driven team who share a passion for helping every student succeed. If you have the resilience, consistency, compassion and high expectations needed to thrive in this role, we would love to hear from you.

Droylsden Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and we expect all staff to share this commitment. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; pre-employment checks will be carried out, references will be sought and successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and other relevant checks with statutory bodies. It is an offence to apply for this role if you have been barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

We are an equal opportunities employer. It is our policy to employ the best qualified personnel and we are committed to providing equal opportunity in recruitment and employment to all individuals who meet our criteria for the role advertised. We will consider candidates without regard to race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation and identity, national origin, age, military or veteran status, disability, or any other legally protected status. This list is not exhaustive, and candidates will also be considered without discrimination based on socioeconomic, marital, parental or caregiving status, or any of the previously listed characteristics or statuses. We value the diversity of our staff and do not tolerate any form of harassment, discrimination, or victimisation. We achieve this by creating and maintaining a work environment and culture where people from different backgrounds, and with varying lifestyles, interests, opinions, and responsibilities, treat each other with dignity and respect. Our working environment is such that our staff feel safe and are inspired and motivated to be their best. Our school is dedicated to sustaining and promoting diversity with respect to recruitment, promotion, training, and general treatment during employment. We are actively seeking to extend the diversity of our staff.
