A competitive salary of £33,280.00 – £46,582.51 per year depending on experience. Overtime, over 8 hours at time and a half. Double pay on Sundays & Bank Holidays. 28 days annual leave including bank holidays. Full-time, stable employment. Opportunities for training and development.

Due to continued demand and growth, we are looking for a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team in Manchester, covering Manchester + 100 miles radius. The role will focus on supporting our North West operations while working alongside and receiving full support from our established Essex‑based depot to ensure smooth coordination, technical backup, and continued high levels of service.

As a Mechanical Technician, you will maintain and repair generators and related equipment. You will work in a fast‑paced environment where reliability, safety, and technical skill are essential. Reporting to the Service Manager, the main purpose of the role is to service, diagnose, and repair generator systems in line with company and manufacturer standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes and scheduled servicing.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults on generators and related equipment.
  • Inspect equipment for potential issues and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Carry out repairs efficiently to minimise downtime for clients.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and customers.
  • Respond to breakdowns and emergency callouts when required.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety standards.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
  • Follow manufacturer and company service procedures.
  • Any other duties as required by the Service Manager.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience as a Mechanic, Mechanical Technician, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle or generator systems and components.
  • Proficient with diagnostic tools and fault‑finding equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (required).
  • Ability to travel to sites when required.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the UK.

Hours: Full‑time position. Hours to be confirmed with successful applicant. May include occasional emergency callouts depending on business needs.
