The predicted salary is between 46300 - 52800 £ per year.

We are seeking 2 motivated locum consultants who are passionate about maternity care and want to join one of the largest maternity providers in the UK. We have 2 posts at NMGH, with initial job plans of 10 Pa's. The posts are for 6 months initially, with the possibility of extension to 12 months on review. Successful applicants will gain experience from a diverse population with many varied pathologies and problems. We encourage applications from trainees who have recently completed Specialist Training or Accreditation routes as we provide a supportive environment for individuals starting out at the consultant grade.

Responsibilities

  • Support and complement both the secondary and tertiary Obstetric services provided by MFT Trust.
  • Take a leading role in improving the quality of services in MFT.
  • Take clinical responsibility for a defined cohort of women under their care, both as outpatients and inpatients, and provide cover for women under the care of other consultant colleagues as required.
  • Deliver outpatient clinics as agreed on the job plan.
  • Participate in the consultant rota patterns for the daytime and out of hours working at the main site of employment.
  • Provide out of hours care as described in individual job plan.
  • Undertake the necessary administrative work relating to the post.
  • Be responsible for obstetric and gynaecology training of junior staff and undergraduate students, and actively participate in clinical teaching and training of the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Take an active role in Clinical Governance, and lead and participate in audit projects relevant to clinical care.
  • Promote research and academic activity within the department.
  • Attend Trust and Departmental induction and complete all mandatory training.
  • Work will be required across sites within the Trust and successful candidates must be willing to be flexible in this regard.
