Principal Data Engineer – LCO EPR Expansion
Data Science and clinical intelligence are revolutionising healthcare, offering opportunities for continuous clinical improvement as well as more personalised care. In this senior role you will lead delivery and improvement of MFT’s data management platform and services, expanding the Trust data warehouse (Epic Caboodle). You will also lead on the specification and development of dataflows, models, automation, and reports, ensuring a first‑class service to the Trust.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead on delivery and continued improvement of MFT’s data management platform and services.
- Specification and development of datasets, data flows, models, processes, and dashboards across multiple clinical services.
- Deliver analytics, reporting and insights that underpin effective decision making.
- Design and develop information solutions using latest technologies (data warehousing, data lakes, web‑based visualisation, R, Python, cloud, statistical analysis).
- Act as project manager for developments, ensuring effective communication, customer engagement, and delivery against pre‑determined outcomes.
- Motivate and drive delivery against objectives and competing priorities; adapt to changing requirements and provide mitigation recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Senior level experience in developing and pipelining within Epic Caboodle.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, with experience in data warehousing, data lakes, Python, R, and cloud‑based technologies.
- Experience delivering and managing dataflows, models, automation, and reporting services.
- Project management experience and ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Completed Sphinx/Cognitive assessment is a plus.
